It was on March 3, 2022, around 9 PM, when Kouri Richins and her husband Eric Richins were celebrating her buying a new home for her real estate business; during the celebration, around 11 PM, Kouri made her husband a nightcap, a favorite of his, a Moscow mule. The drink is vodka-based, with big hits of mint and lime, and topped with ginger beer. She brought the drink to their bedroom, where he started drinking it in bed.
They had been working on their marriage after having a bit of a rough time. Kouri had told friends that things had been getting better. Eric and Kouri have three sons. They shared a home in Kamas, Utah. Kamas gives its residents the feel of rural living, some with large estates. It’s approximately forty miles east of Salt Lake City. The family had the ability to live a luxurious lifestyle, never wanting anything, with a large home and all the extras they could possibly want.
