There is a distinct lack of information in the case of the missing person, Sherrye Bethel.

In 1972, Sherrye Lee Dean married for the first time at seventeen years old, and their marriage lasted until February 1974. According to the Charley Project, Sherrye married her second husband, whose last name is Taylor, three months after the divorce from her first husband had been finalized — around May or June 1974.

Sherrye and her second husband lived in Fort Worth, Texas, and by 1976, the pair had a one-year-old child. This is where Sherrye’s case takes a strange turn due to a lack of information. According to her second husband, Sherrye was last seen on July 15th, 1976.

Her husband reported her missing soon after telling the Fort Worth Police Department that Sherrye had ‘walked out’ on him and their child but didn’t provide a reason why.

Interestingly, it appears the husband had filed for divorce precisely one year after he reported her missing. By July 1977, the divorce was finalized, but Sherrye was still nowhere to be found. One Websleuth user has suggested that the Nipton Jane Doe 778UFCA may be Sherrye. The Nipton Jane Doe was found in May 1976, although it is possible that Sherrye disappeared long before her husband reported her missing.
