The Deaths of Two Dutch Women in Panama is Still a Mystery

Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers disappeared while on a hike in Panama back in 2014. Although the Panama officials have closed this case, the Dutch Government thinks there is more to uncover.

Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers were friends and roommates from the Netherlands. Lisanne was twenty-two, and Kris was twenty-one. They both grew up in Amersfoort, and while they had different passions academically, they shared a love of travel and adventure.

The girls had moved in together, sharing a dorm, and they both worked at the same cafe. They had saved up for six months for a trip to Panama they planned together. The trip was a graduation celebration as Froon had recently graduated with a degree in Applied Sciences in September 2013.

They had intended to combine the vacation with humanitarian efforts, while also practicing their Spanish.

They had arrived in Panama on March 15, 2014. It was planned to be a six-week vacation, four of those weeks were to be spent living with a host family…
